Disney just let the dogs in.
All is not well in the world of hotels today, right? Naaaahhhhh
What we are experiencing is a paradigm shift- the acceptance of how deeply mankind is connected to his or her four-legged furry friend.

The approach Disney resorts and hotels took has been on the cards for a while. Before now, lots of hotels scattered across the land have been accommodating to man’s best friend and in style too. Hotels are making a gamble that we cannot and should not be separated from our dogs. Whether at home, on the road or in a palatial presidential suite, the bond between us and our pooches knows no bound. In the past, traveling with your dog was a logistical nightmare. Figuring out where to stay with your fur baby was always going to be difficult since they are practically unwelcomed in most hotels.
In years past, vacations without the family pet were all too common., but now Dog-friendly hotels are on the rise. Alas, hotels are finally allowing Fido and mates to have a taste of the “five star.”
On the face of it, it looks like nothing changed. Corporations have always loved money. And travelers have always loved their dogs so a compromise was inevitable. The dog-friendly hotel market is ripe and huge. So many businesses are therefore making a killing. If you don’t have the big dollar and think this is not for you, that may not be precisely true.
There are lots of dog-friendly hotels along the spectrum fit for every budget that will welcome your pet with open arms. From the cheap to the not so affordable and the luxurious, you are covered.
Some perks that can be obtained in dog-friendly hotels:
- ID tags
- Food and water
- Toys and treats
- Accessories and beddings
- Grooming parlor and a translator
Not all of these are included in the service and may incur a fee.
As a traveler with a furry buddy, you are responsible for the upkeep and actions of your pet. Therefore take with you essential items like food bowls, poop bags, ID tags, food, toys, and beddings before you hit the road.
Finally, the availability of these hotels means no longer will you be burdened with the guilt of “locking” up your dog in a kennel somewhere. The family dog can join in on the vacation; the kids are happy, the dog is happy, and you are happy.
