- The Invitations
Seeing as this is a party for your pup, make sure to invite all of your dog’s best friends! This includes the fun pups you met at the dog park and any friends you might have who own dogs that also get along with your four-legged friends. When you send out the invitations, see if they can fit into your theme! We just love these simple yet adorable ones from Amazon.
- Make a Menu!
Since you’ll have both humans and dogs alike at this dog party, it’s important to keep in mind that you’ll be serving food to both! While you may have human appetizers and cakes that you can whip up, did you know that you can make delicious puppycakes too? That’s right, here is a pawsome recipe that involves carrots and bananas, with a delicious frosting. Get the recipe here: Carrot Banana Cupcakes For DogsPlus, this recipe is full of human-grade ingredients so you can try a few bites too! You can also make some fun dog treats dipped in dog-friendly icing and sprinkles, or have this be an activity that other pup owners can do at the party. It’s a treat that all the pups will get to enjoy! If the thought of making your own dog-friendly icing scares you, don’t worry! You can get super cheap dog friendly icing from Amazon here: K9Cakery Magi Frost Icing for Dog Treat
Try drawing on the sidewalk with chalk and make pawprints leading towards your house. Put up signs outside your house that say “Keep sniffing! Almost there!” To welcome pups and people alike. Inside your house, grab some balloons and draw cute dog faces on them. And when it comes to serving food, grab some clean dog bowls and fill them with human treats: paw-tato chips, paw-corn, and the like. If you’re feeling particularly creative, make some puppy-chow from Chex mix and serve it up! We promise it’ll be gone faster that your pup wolfs down dog treats. If children will be attending this dog party, you can even include a tiny “adoption center” and fill it with stuffed animals (of course in dog form!) that they can take home with them. Include print out adoption certificates to make it official!
And that’s it! It’s super easy to throw a dog party for your four-legged friends. Have any other party tips that you’d like to share? Let us know in the comments below!
