We are all about delicious, time saving meals that we can whip up in a flash. (Let’s be honest, half of your pinterest boards are just recipes you’ve saved for later). And with the new trends leading to healthy, fresh meals, we found some recipes that can work for you and your dog! If you saw our article on human grade and super premium dog foods, you’ll know that it’s more important than ever to feed your dog the right foods. Reading labels is great, but when you cook, you can see and decide exactly how much of something you want to end up in a meal.
We found the best recipes that you can whip up for yourself and your dog so you can enjoy your meals together.
- Salmon with Veggies
We totally love this recipe. Not only is it super easy to make, but it’s also eco-friendly! Unwanted broccoli stalks? Throw them in the pot for your dog! Carrot peels that don’t taste great for you? Steam them for your dog! They may be a little too chewy for human mouths, but we guarantee that your pup will love them (and get some veggies in too!) Rocky Kanaka’s recipe for salmon and veggies looks sooo good! Be sure though not to season anything until both meals are cooked. Seasoning isn’t necessary for dog food (we know your pup will eat just about anything anyways) and those extra salts aren’t too great for them. He also throws in the cooked salmon skin (to get rid of bacteria and unwanted parasites) for his pup, which provides him with a high omega topping. This is practically a zero-waste meal and we’re paws over tails for it!
- Turkey and Rice
This recipe is spectacular for people and pups, especially when you’re sick! If you or your pup are ever feeling nauseous or getting over an upset stomach, then you’ve got to try it. Not only is it hearty and full of nutrients because of the ground turkey, it’s also bland enough to not upset any stomachs. The rice is a great addition to help you and your pup stay fuller for longer. It also features a hearty helping of veggies. Best part about this meal? You can make a big batch of it and freeze it for later use! Saves time and energy the next time you or your four-legged friend are looking for something healthy and quick. Just pop it out of the freezer and into the microwave for 15-30 seconds and you’ve got a healthy, easily digestible meal in minutes! Grab the recipe here: damndelicious
