Spring is here in Los Angeles and that means beautiful picnics, strolling through gorgeous gardens, rolling your windows down and taking leisurely walks. It turns out a dog’s utopia is the spring season.
This spring season stop sitting around alone inside and spend it having fun in the sun with your dog. Here is a list of awesome things you can do with your dog that’ll leave him having a tail-waggin’ good time.
- Shopping at the Grove
It’s the most beautiful mall in Los Angeles and they ALLOW DOGS! Is this heaven? I think so. The Grove is an outdoor mall equipped with live entertainment, an diverse food market and a gigantic fountain programmed to move with the music. If that’s not entertainment, I don’t know what is. Spend the day with your dog window-shopping and sampling food and go home a hero.
- Shopping at 3rd Street Promenade
All you shop-o-holics will appreciate this location. 3rd Street Promenade is an all day, fun-filled outdoor mall with shops and street performers everywhere you turn. Your dog might even be featured in one of the shows! 3rd street is located in Santa Monica, which is close to the pier, the beach and beautiful hikes all around. If your dog is tired of people watching, head towards the hills.
- Walking in Beverly Hills Neighborhoods
The city of Beverly Hills is one of the most hectic, obnoxious places on earth, but the neighborhoods are gorgeous. Skip Rodeo drive and head towards the homes. These neighborhoods are scattered with enormous trees, perfectly planted flowers and pristine sidewalks for the wealthy and very important people. Your dog might even meet a celebrity friend. Put on your best workout outfit, brush your dog’s hair and (hopefully) you’ll fit in with the rich and famous and have some fun while doing it.
- Hikes, Hikes, Hikes
Los Angeles may be a concrete jungle but luckily dog friendly, hiking destinations surround the entire city. Check out, Griffith Park, Runyon Canyon, Temescul Canyon and Nichols Canyon. These hikes can be challenging, but with the right tennis shoes and a little hard work, you can make it to the very top. Prepare for breath-taking views and calorie burning to the max!
- Check out Echo Park Lake
Echo Park is one of the hippest parks in Los Angeles and we know why. Could it be the downtown skyline backdrop from the lake? Or maybe it’s the dog friendly trail circling a duck and paddleboat populated body of water? Echo Park Lake has a lot for you and your dog to see and you’ll most likely make some friends considering this is one of the friendliest parts of town.
- Visit Morrison Pub
Morrison Pub, located in Atwater Village is home to some of the greatest bread pudding and local craft beers. They also offer a delicious dog friendly menu that is given to every furry friend visiting. The doggy menu features chopped hamburger beef with rice, chicken and rice and the “Frankenweinie.” Enjoy the Cali sun and get buzzed with your dog. What could be better?
