This week, Digital Doggy would like to give a spotlight to a very special non-profit foundation, Frankie’s Friends.
This organization, based in Florida, is dedicated to finding cures and saving pets life-threatening conditions. They accomplish this by providing grants to assist with the cost of specialty care or emergency for pets whose families are unable to afford the full cost of these necessary procedures. The veterinary hospitals teamed up with Frankie’s Friends also help out by giving discounts. This awesome foundation even extends a helping hand to injured wildlife!

Frankie’s Friends main mission is to provide better treatment of life-threatening conditions, easier access to advanced medical care for pets, and better support for families with pets.
Procedures these specialty vets perform range from delicate neurosurgeries to repair spinal cord disease to even chemotherapy in order to extend and improve the quality of life for pets with treatable cancers. These pets can enjoy more time with their loving families! Just a decade ago, pets with these severe conditions had no hope. Now these procedures are becoming more routine.
Frankie’s Friends was started in 1999 by Dr. Neil Shaw in order to save pets whom would alternatively suffer without proper care or be euthanized due to their families’ lack of financial resources. Dr. Shaw continues to work on the Frankie’s Friends Board of Directors today.
Frankie’s Friends assists over 2,200 animals every year across the United States. Their next event is a baking competition in Tampa Florida on January 31, 2017! This wonderful non-profit is actively seeking volunteers and interns.
