Princess Leia, also known as iconic actor and best selling author Carrie Fisher, who recently passed away, was a huge PETA supporter and a major dog lover. Gary, her French bulldog was by her side every minute, even on the Hollywood red carpet. Gary helped with her bipolar disorder and provided a calm energy for Fisher.

Fisher proved her love of dogs during a demonstration outside London’s Chinese Embassy in June 2016. She was protesting China’s Yulin Dog-eating festival in which dogs are viscously killed and eaten. “These poor dogs need us to fight for them,” she said. “Every single one of them is as precious as my dear Gary, every one of them is someone’s best friend.”
