We all say weird sh*t to our dog. Whether it’s when we leave for work in the morning, cuddle them in bed at night or randomly talk to them throughout the day. We talk to them a lot. The way you talk to your dog says a lot about you—but what?

- You use baby talk
This is the number one thing people do. You treat your dog like a human baby. If you’re this person, you’re most likely maternal and consider your dog a member of the family.
- You talk to your dog like a military captain
You’re strict and stern and order your dog around. You are the boss and they obey you. You’re a tough guy that demands perfection. Ease up on the pup every once in a while, cap’n.
- You sing to your dog to communicate
Everything you want to say is sung. Whether it’s positive or negative messages, you’ll be singing. You’re the artistic type. You love to sing, play music and have fun.
- You talk to your dog in a voice (you think) they understand
It could be extremely low pitched, obnoxiously high or all around odd. You think you know what your dog wants and you give him that. You’re a creative type with a great sense of humor.
- You don’t really talk to your dog that much
You kind of just pet him and use hand signals. You most likely don’t value your dog as much as others. You see your dog as a dog, not a person.
